Connecting Women at Group 1
In April 2023, women from all areas of our company came together for a celebratory business event. Filled with career centric discussions, a panel Q & A, guest speakers from influential and inspirational women in our American stores, as well as fun filled activities - this event gave our attendees the oppoprtunity to expand upon their network, knowledge and career aspirations within Group 1. We even had guest appearances from our CEO Daryl and our UK Managing Director Philip, both of whom support our belief that every member of Group 1 has the opportunity to succeed.

Stronger Together
The event gave our female colleagues the opportunity to connect, collaborate and recognise the many skills that they bring to the business. With women at the event contributing to our ‘Give & Get Boards’, posting both skills they can share as well as new skills they want to learn. Many women who attended have already connected over the boards commenting that it is a very empowering and friendly way to both upskill and support one another. As such, we will continue to connect with each other through the ‘Give & Get’ idea and are encouraging more people to join this skill sharing.
At Group 1, we recognise that everyone has a different career path, and a powerful part of our event was to provide a space for women to discuss their career aspirations and discover opportunities for progression within the company that they weren't previously aware of. The event’s logo demonstrates this, showing different paths and indeed different mountains, as well as different ways of reaching each summit - a sentiment echoed in the stories of many of our event speakers. Some of the women at our event have reached the top of their career mountain and are enjoying the view. Others are still on their journey. The event spent time exploring career goals. Some guests have been motivated to take new opportunities in their jobs, whilst others have have been able to collaborate with empowering results for both themselves and the company.
