BMW Films are back with one more short film, starring the soon-to-be released, all-new 5 Series. A tribute to the 15th anniversary of the original BMW movie series, The Escape once again stars Clive Owen as the mysterious ‘driver for hire’, and you can also enjoy performances from Dakota Fanning, Jon Bernthal and Vera Farmiga this time round. This isn’t just a BMW 5 Series video, it’s a high quality, serious Hollywood-style, short story in its own right, but obviously the new 5 Series gets a lot of airtime for BMW fans to enjoy. Watch it below, and then get more information on the star of the show by reading our 5 Series overview and 5 Series review, or sending us an enquiry.
The new 5 Series release date is 11th February and, with such an enticing specification, interest in the model is already very strong. Weighing up to 100kg less than before, yet safer and more comfortable than ever, performance and efficiency gains are seen across the range. Even the 520d is capable of 0-62mph in 7.4 seconds, yet thanks to an aerodynamic body that sets a new benchmark in its class, and other BMW EfficientDynamics features and refinements, up to 68.9mpg combined is achievable.
With chassis technology including Integral Active Steering four-wheel-steer and xDrive four-wheel drive, the new 5 Series promises to once again be the ultimate driving machine of the executive saloon car class. This will be epitomised by the M550i xDrive model, which comes in March 2017 and boasts 462hp and a 0-62mph time of 4 seconds. Standard technology on all models includes LED headlights and some highly advanced driver assist systems, while luxury also comes in the shape of a more spacious, better appointed interior. Register your interest to be the first to get all the most up-to-date information on this model.
