Connecting a Bluetooth® enabled device to your vehicle’s onboard computer is very convenient and useful to drivers who wish to communicate safely and legally with family, friends or business associates whilst driving. It allows you to make and receive telephone calls, as well as transferring music from your headset to the car’s stereo system.
Connecting your Bluetooth® enabled device to your BMW is a simple matter. The first thing to do is to ensure that your software is compatible with the BMW interface; this can be done through visiting www.bmw.com/connectivity and selecting your vehicle, device and desired functions.
Making sure that Bluetooth® is enabled on your device is the next step – the option to scan for it can usually be found in the “General Settings and Connectivity” menu. When you scan for other devices in your car, the BMW ID will appear on the list of nearby devices. Select a PIN and enter it into your iDrive infotainment system – this will pair your phone with the car. Remember to allow the BMW device to synchronise itself with your phonebook by ticking the relevant box on your car’s Bluetooth® menu.
Visit the BMW website today to confirm that your mobile device is compatible with our cars’ Bluetooth® systems. For further enquiries on Bluetooth® pairing, speak to the helpful staff at Group 1 BMW.
