The first aspect you notice about the Audi Q7 is its imposing appearance – the result of a long wheelbase and high roof-line. This contributes to a comfortable ride and masses of interior space, and attractive form is retained to draw admiring glances when on the move. Alloy wheels, LED lights, and aluminium roof-rails and window trim all feature on the outside to boost the vehicle's appeal, an approach which is reflected on the inside.
The cabin is graced with a collection of fine materials, including leather upholstery and inlays of black gloss or natural wood. With many personalisation options available, you can construct a Q7 in your own vision. Across all three rows, you and all six passengers sit high above the road for better visibility, and ample space exists for luggage when the first and second rows are folded.
From your relaxed seating position, access to an abundance of Audi equipment is straightforward. As standard, this includes the MMI Radio Plus with colour display, DAB digital radio, and Bluetooth® interface for hands-free telephone calls. Many optional extras can be specified to enhance your experience, including an advanced sat nav system to minimise travel disruption and Audi parking system for easier manoeuvring into spaces.
The Q7's most significant technological development is found under the bonnet in the shape of a TDI quattro engine. Two sizes are offered – a 3.0-litre and 4.2-litre. Each receives the manufacturer's innovative four-wheel drive system, which is joined by an eight-speed tiptronic gearbox that delivers smooth changes. As well as being extremely powerful, the engine line-up also boasts significantly improved emissions, as just 189g/km of CO2is released from the smallest 201bhp option.
Its engine isn't the only aspect of the Q7 that is built to last, as the entire body has been constructed to be as strong as possible. The SUV is therefore supremely safe, the result of sophisticated systems including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), and cruise control. In the unlikely event of an accident, ISOFIX child seat anchors and airbags throughout the cabin will offer maximum protection.
